Sustainable Sourcing Partner

Supplier is working very hard towards sustainable goals, they shipped the first organic cotton production in 2009 so its been quite a while since they have been dealing and researching with organic products when the supply chain was still in its infancy and it was almost impossible to find the complete supply chain partners.

Supplier has gone stepwise to include/audit/certify our supply chain along with their own factory, whose complete supply chain was audited and certified in 2014 since the new factory was setup to comply to the GOTS (Global organic Textile Standard) and OCS (Organic Content Standard).

They have now given up OCS certification since GOTS is now the gold/highest standard to comply to organic production and complying to each different standard entails its own cost of 6 monthly audits and associated certifications, not only for the CMT factory, but the complete supply chain.

Now that there are many spinners offering certified yarns, therefore the lead time and the fear associated with exorbitant costs+lead time has gone down drastically. It is possible to now source GOTS certified organic fabric from yarn to fabric from reliable supply chain partners within 30 days in regular counts/construction like sheeting/canvas/voile/cambric/poplin.

Supplier has travelled to the interiors of Madhya Pradesh and Orissa where organic cotton seeds and crops are cultivated at certified farms using natural processes to grow the cotton crop

At the farming level too, natural age old techniques are used to circumvent the use of fertile land destroying pesticides and chemical fertilizers which are used to increase the per hectare yield of crop.

As a responsible corporate group , supplier consider the interests of society by taking responsibility for the impact of our activities on our suppliers & employees as well as the environment. Supplier obligation is seen to extend beyond the statutory obligation to comply with legislation of the country to making sure that we somehow contribute to the betterment of suppliers, employees and society as a whole.
